Inspiring interiors in Poznań

New products and trends in interior decoration: from finishing, through furnishing to lighting and stylish decor. All this will be showcased once again in Poznań at MEBLE, HOME DECOR, BUDMA INTERIOR and BIURO fairs to be held on 3 - 6 June 2009. This year, the first edition of a prestigious project entitled arena DESIGN will be launched.

Parallel exhibitions are the largest event for the furniture and interior decoration industry in the Central and Eastern Europe. Their offer features products and services from all over the world. In 2008, as many as 25,000 visitors, both professionals and industry merchandisers, as well as individual clients, came to see it.

Finishing for a start

Manufacturers of bathroom fittings and sanitary ware, producers of household appliances and kitchen furnishing, manufacturers of kitchen furniture, interior doors, window sills, stairs, wallpapers, plasters, wall decoration systems, construction chemicals, fireplaces, as well as design and consultancy companies will all participate in the Interior Finishing and Renovation Fair BUDMA INTERIOR. In dedicated display zones there will be showcase bathrooms (manufacturers of bathroom fittings and sanitary ware, bathroom accessories and furniture, as well as home SPA elements: saunas and baths), kitchens (manufacturers of kitchen furniture, built-in household appliances, kitchen fittings, tabletops and kitchen accessories) and floors (manufacturers of floors and floor coverings). The Developers' Exhibition, a brand new show, will feature offers of Wielkopolska-based real estate investors. Interesting thematic zones will be prepared for the visitors, namely: FreeIdeasRoom: a place where you can seek advice on interior decoration, CoffeeRoom: a zone where each and every visitor will have a chance to relax and browse through interior decoration magazines, ShowRoom: where you can view the offer of products and devices live: directly in practice, and PaintRoom, where you can explore the rich selection of wall decorations that can also be DIY jobs.

Stylish furniture

The largest furniture exhibition in our region of Europe is by far a wonderful opportunity to see for yourself how functional the latest furniture collections from national and foreign manufacturers actually are. Traditionally, the MEBLE Furniture Trade Fair will feature bedroom, living room, study, kitchen and dining room furniture. Every year, inspiring interiors that reflect international trends in interior design are very popular with the public at the fair. This year's edition will also include garden and tourist furniture, as well as a collection of antique furniture replicas along with rattan and wicker furniture. The BIURO exposition, presenting the latest standards in office and public building furnishings, will provide a nice addition to the offer.  As it is usually the case during the Poznań fair, industry debates on the condition of the Polish furniture sector will crop up at different seminars and conferences. This is already the third time furniture buyers from Poland and Europe will visit the fair under the special matchmaking programme. Arranged meetings of exhibitors and prospective business partners are useful in establishing new business contacts, in particular in the times of economic downturn on the furniture market.

Time to decorate

What actually makes a beautiful interior is original decoration. It is presented every year at the HOME DECOR Interior Design and Home Furnishings Fair. This year, products will be showcased within the following thematic groups: decorative fabrics (including decorative and upholstery fabrics, net curtains, curtains, curtain rods, towels, bed sheets, carpets, duvets and pillows), table & kitchen (glassware, china, ceramics, cutlery and kitchen accessories), home beauty (including mirrors, clocks, flower stands, picture frames, candles, decorative ceramics, wooden and metal decorations), decor (including Christmas tree decorations, Christmas and occasional décor and decorative packaging), as well as light at the LUMINEXPO Exhibition of Lighting and Light Technology (interior lights, exterior lights, sources of light, lighting components and accessories). Companies involved in interior decoration, publishing houses and industry organisations will all be present at the trade show.

arena DESIGN: the form is ahead of the future

In 2009, the Poznań interior decoration trade fairs will witness the first ever edition of the arena DESIGN project. This new addition to the Poznań International Fair line-up will be entirely dedicated to contemporary industrial design. The goal behind the project is to create a high-profile meeting platform for the world of design and business, and to promote the best practices in Europe as regards furniture design and other areas of industrial design. The area of arena DESIGN 2009 will comprise five theme zones: Forum, Top Design, Creatives, Education and Knowledge. The rich event programme scheduled for each of the theme zones includes meetings with design luminaries, panel discussions, presentations, exhibitions, and competitions for designers and manufacturers. Polish and international universities of art and technology (product design and industry design departments), along with institutions, associations and industry press, are also going to have a strong presence at the event.
